Should I deliver the divorce papers in person, or by mail?

My husband (soon-to-be ex-husband) is in jail for D-felony domestic battery & D-felony intimidation (from the June 10 incident) I have decided not to give this LOSER anymore chances. I deserve to be happy & safe... Should I mail the divorce papers to him while he is jail? Or should how else should I deliver the news?
