Does having a qualification matter?

I've been dating a guy for almost 2 years, we both love each other, but things have been getting a bit tense recently because I've started to think seriously about our future. I've been brought up in a family where education and career are of paramount importance, especially when it comes to choosing my significant other (I guess you can say my parents are very traditional). However, my boyfriend does not have a degree, although he is working at a large, reputable company, and he is very ambitious. Is this enough though? The other thing is that I have a degree and a postgrad, and I earn significantly more than him - he tells me he doesn't feel inferior, but I know it puts a lot of pressure on him, especially with my parents expectations as well. So the reason why I posted this question is because I am battling with a huge conflict between having faith in him and his ability, and giving up the relationship to search for someone who already has proven his success. I know this sounds harsh and superficial, but I am a realist and I know love isn't everything in a happy relationship... Let me know what you think.
