Have you ever given a serial cheater another chance?

I know it's a loaded question, but every situation is complicated. He's making changes to his life (not drinking, therapy-both alone and with me, going to church, cutting ties with mistresses, etc). This is his second chance, and he's doing pretty well so far. I'm just wondering if after four months of not speaking to him, I caved too early? I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with forgiving a serial cheater and how they over came always wanting to be the detective/questioning/hurt/anger. I love him, and I want to be able to give this one last shot without regret. What do you, people with experience, say?
