Getting Cold Feet

Side 1 says... I've been seeing this guy for a few months, and some little things are beginning to get on my nerves. I'm not sure if I should just put up with it, or if this stuff is just an indication that we weren't made for each other.

It started when I met his mother. She's lovely, but Iranian and very traditional. Whenever we meet she always wants to know when we're going to get married and have kids. I don't want to get married! Like I said, I've only know the guy for a few months! If she's like this now, what will she be like if we get serious?!

Next thing, is this guy has weird obsessions. Like, I'm a lifeguard and met we at my pool. Now he's getting really into swimming (which he sucks at), and always talking about the next event he's going to enter. And then the worst thing is, he has started shaving his body, which he thinks will make him faster, and he's using my razor when he does it! It would be ok but neither of us is ever going to make the Olympics, so you know, tone it down a bit. And ask, dammit!

He also has food obsessions. I brought home a whole chicken once, and asked him to cook it. Like, just put it in the oven. And he got all weird about it, saying he only eats organic skinless chicken breasts, and refused to touch it. Like, just put it in the oven already! It's isn't that hard. I ended up eating alone, and while he went out for dinner. Next day he threw the rest of the chicken away while I was at work.

Side 2 says... I know the real issue is that she cannot handle a man of color. (By the way, it is Persian not Iranian). It were her idea that I start shaving. She said she didn't like the feel of all my hair when we make love. So I tried it. She said she likes it, and also mentioned I looked "white" shaved. It only later that I found out it makes me almost a second faster in the pool, which is why I keep doing it.
