I need some honest advice on a delicate subject..

My Boyfriend and I have known eachother for over a year. We've been together in a sexual relationship for about 6 months. I would say we have a very honest healthy relationship. I'm going to call him 'B' for this.
Well, here's the thing. I've been kinda thinking about BD and DS (Bondage/Discipline and Dominant/Submissive) alot lately. Now I want to bring this up to my boyfriend but I'm not too sure of the reaction I'll get. Now don't get me wrong, I don't think he would judge me too harshly but I don't know if it's too early to bring this up. Now, I don't want to go crazy.. I'm not into S&M. It's more of a power play and trust thing with me. I just don't want B to think that what we have isn't enough, you know? Because that is by no means true.
We've played around a bit with the D/S roles before but only as a little bit of light foreplay. I just want to know if there's anyone out there who actually lives this lifestyle who could give me some advice on how to tell him.. Or wether or not I even should just yet. B is amazing and I don't want to put a strain on anything between us soooo...
