Drifting apart... help please?

My bf and i have been together a year and 2 months, we've been best friends for 2 years, we love each other but lately things have gotten more diffcult, In july my family moved about an hour a way but i still see him on my lunch break most days. we really dont have much in common and we've run out of things to talk about. he loves me dearly and i love him, i just feel like we've lost the spark.
sometimes i think that this isnt what i want in a relationship, i mean, it's not exactly the dream relationship i always wanted but thinking logically i dont know if thats possible. he does his best for me, and he puts up with me. at times i can be hard to take cos i'm moody and opinionated, but he says it doesnt bother him.
he really is so sweet to me, and when things were all "lovey-dovey" a few months ago i never had any doubts, but now that everything's cooled i'm starting to see the imperfections.
i dont know what to do, i want things back to the way they used to be, i just dont know if thats possible.
any advice is very much appreciated :)
