How much should I pay for a visit to the Emergency Room in Texas? I am not a U.S citizen with no insurance.
On January 5th.I was in the E.R. My condition:sore throat and chest pain.I was given a prescription for an antibiotic which I bought and payed at the pharmacy.
They are charging me $1000.00 U.S.Dollars (after discount for not being an American citizen nor resident). I am willing to pay a normal amount for the consultation,but One Thousand Dollars is an abuse.I know that a private doctor charges between $80 and $180 Dollars.They don't want to hear anything about it (I offered to pay $300.00), and said that they are giving the account to a collection agency.What should I do? Please HELP!!!
