Is it more gross to cut your split ends at your work desk or get real human hair extensions?

So I was talking to my friend Jane, and mentioning that at work, I tend to cut the split ends of my hair at my desk. They fall to the ground, and the cleaning guy comes every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and vacuums. She thinks this is disgusting. Then, she proceeds to talk about how she is considering getting hair extensions, but with real human hair. Other people's real human hair. I think that is way more gross, since you sleep with it, it touches your face all the time, and it was previously attached to someone else's body and exposed to their sweat and various other body fluids.
