Do all relationships go through a "rough patch"?
My boyfriend and I have been together for 1 1/2 years. I love him insanely, but lately it's like we fight about the stupidest things, and all the time; at least a couple times a week. It really hard.
I guess its been harder with us lately since we don't get to see each other much during the summer holidays. We both go to the same university but we also both live with our parents during the summer, whereas i have an apartment during school. He also is very very family oriented so he's constantly busy doing family events and such and while I have a full time job he has 2 part-time jobs. And we live 1.5 hours from each other.
Anyways, there's the background. School starts next week and I have my apartment starting in September. I guess I'm hoping it'll get better when we see each other more often.
like I said lately we've been fighting a lot more than we usually do. He'll say something as a joke and I'll take it the wrong way, or I'll think that it's a joke but then he'll take it too far. Or I`ll say something and he`ll take it way out of proportion. Stuff like that, and I'll say things not even to start a fight or to fight about but just to point out and he'll get mad at me for it. Like today, I told him something, and he said that I was b*tching at him and that was why he was upset about it. But honestly my intention was never to bitch at him. so we're coming at it from 2 different places and opinions and we cant really agree on it. I just said can we let it go and he said ya no worries. We'll he's still mad because he's still not really talking to me...much...he kinda gets vague when he's mad. Anyways I can tell he's still p*issed.
We did the being apart thing last year too and I don't remember it being this bad. Maybe it was but I told myself it wasn't that bad or maybe its just worse this year.
Needless to say all this fighting is causing a lot of stress. i just want to know if this is normal? And if so what can I do about it?
