MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS KEEP ON GIVING ME GIFTS FOR DECORATION THAT ARE NOT MY STYLE AND ARE REALLY UGLY
OK people out there. Here is my dilemma:
I have a minimalistic and modern style of decor ,which I love and feel comfortable with.I do not like a lot of things. well, most of my family members and friends keep on giving me all this chachikas, little porcelain figurines, salt shaker in the shape of birds, flowers, plastic flowers,crochet doilies pillows,seat covers,towels,etc. Things that I really dislike and do not want in my house.but they act like they feel that I need them . I don't know what to do in order not to offend them , I already try letting some of them know that i don't like things, but they just ignore me and pretend they did not hear. I don't want to use they're gifts in my house, but i don't want to hurt them.I have being putting a lot of them in my bathroom but I still have to see them. My husband suggested that I just keep them in the closet or give them away. But some of the people actually want to see they're gifts around my house. They ask me if i like it, and I can't say that I don't, because I know that they don't really mean that question ,and knowing them if I say I don't they will be very offended. I even though of putting all in one bedroom . but i hate to ruin my personal decor just to accommodate other people personal style . I do appreciate they're nice gesture but they act like i have to take the style because i need to.The truth is I really hate the gifts they keep on giving me and they are really ugly and cheap looking. Help!
