5 Days He Ignored Me

Side 1 says... We have been friends for over 10 years. I'm presently deployed to Iraq. We have decided to start dating when I come home. We talked almost everyday at about the same time everyday for a few months. Then for 5 days I didn't hear anything from him. I left messages on his IM, he never responded. Called his house phone and his cell phone, wouldn't answer either.

I was beginning to worry that something had happened to him since he had been gone so long. Then he comes back on like nothing was wrong. I asked him why he was gone for so long and he didn't give me much of an answer, mainly that he just had his kids with him. He's picked up the phone and talked to me with the kids over before and I don't keep him on long, like 10 minutes tops, usually more like a quick 'hi' bye' thing. I don't mind not being talked to for 5 days but a little notice would have been nice. All I wanted was for him to take 5 minutes out of his day and send me an email saying 'Hey I have the kids, I'll be busy till about Tuesday.' So I'm not sitting and waiting for him online or wasting my phone card minutes for someone who isn't going to answer the phone. Is a head's up too much to ask?
