How do I get my husband to understand that I do not like the way he talks to me in front of our kids?

The other day my husband got mad because I threw something away (food) that he still wanted. In front of our kids (16 and 15) he says what I do is so annoying and that I always do things like that. He went on and on and made me feel really bad about myself right in front of our kids. He does this all the time to me. I just don't like the way he makes me feel and the way he talks to me in front of the kids. Am I being to sensitive?? I told him how I feel ,but he always does this. Please help!!
