is it wrong of me to expect him to resrict himself to the bare essential, if i do so?

my husband and i recently had our first child. he is the main source of income, and i stay home with the child. for this very reason we are tring to stick to a budget. for this very reason i have stopped shopping, getting my hair and nails done, stopped buying name brand products(i.e. laundry detergent, soap,) and i have even stopped eatting out. i do not spend any extra money. he buys beer everyday, eats out at fastfood places all the time, and he spends money bring the acct neg. then when it comes time to talk about events such as the babies bday, and christmas. he says we dont have money.
