im working overseas for uncle sam, my wife and i have been having issues over me being controlling

The issue is im overseas and i make a big deal about her having to ask me for permission when she wants to go out or when she wants to buy something. (i rarely say no) she says im controlling but i reassure her that im just looking for the feeling of not being forgotten or sense of being home. i tell her that i just want to be included in her daily activities and since i was divorce before she assumes i have trust issues. and i remind her that i dont she has plenty of male friends and i never stopped her from hanging out with them. am i being to possesive over her?
