Wife goes to the gym, diets, but doesn't lose weight

My wife and I were recently married last year. We have no children and we are in our late twenties. We both go to the gym 3-4 times a week and she is on a diet. I admit that I do not diet with her. I just go to lift weights as I have never had a problem with being overweight.

She has been very frustrated lately. I would say the worst thing she has every now and then is a soda. She stopped eating out at restaurants and won't touch cheese, which she used to love. She says she has always been the same weight since college. She isn't skinny, but she isn't fat either. She is more on the larger end of average. We go to a gym that has a lot of skinny women in sports bras, so I can see why she is getting upset. She takes vitamins and works out for about an hour to an hour and a half when she goes to the gym. Her diet has been filed down to mainly breakfast bars for breakfast, chopped fruit for lunch and a dinner with something like fish and chicken. I don't know what to say to her. I too wish she was smaller like she does, especially since we have a trip to Hawaii coming up. She has been doing this since spring. I also worry that if she has this much trouble losing weight, will she get a lot bigger later and be unable to lose that? She was about this weight when I met her, and I thought I would give her a chance despite her not being the skinnier type I usually go for. She has a great personality and I really do love her, but I am tired of her complaining about her weight. Her thyroid has been tested, and nothing is wrong there. She is about 5'7", 160 pounds. Her hips are also a bit wider than most women's... definitely wider than her shoulders. She wants to reduce that, but I don't know if spot reduction actually works. Any help?
