2 Degrees Of Argument

Side 2
Side 1 says... This is so ridiculous. Our house is a sweat box. We live in South Louisiana where the only other hotter place is hell. My husband keeps the thermostat on 74. The reason? To conserve energy and "learn" to get used to the heat.

I don't want to "learn" to get used to the heat. I live in America and have the luxury of air conditioning. I'm all about saving energy. But keeping the thermostat on 72 (which is where I'm comfortable) when it's 100 degrees outside isn't excessive. People around here keep theirs on 60!

So I think that 72 is reasonable and if he's cold, he should add layers of clothing or a blanket.

Side 2 says... yes, I am probably nuts. 74 is still kind of too low for me but it's better than 72. Me and our son are constantly cold. I think it's because we both spend lot of time outside and we are trying to be physically fit. There are many reasons why I like to have A/C higher.

I like to save energy, water, food and other resources we have, because I see people on other side of the world don't have this luxury.
I believe in making a difference even its so small like to turn of the water when brushing your teeth, recycle and every little thing to make it better for our kids, planet and future. My 6 year old son is already understanding that and doing everything he can to help and trust me he does great, probably better than lot of adults.

And yes we have some heat in La now, but you also catch cold lot faster if inside is 72 and outside 104.Thirty degrees difference for your body (my body)is constant shock. I don't feel like putting some more clothing at home, because it's too hot for my love. My son asked me today if he can use the heater in the bathroom when he is there. So, it seems it's not just me........
