Dirty Rotten Son Of A Witch

Side 1 says... Ok he's not rotten but my husband feels the need to spend every weekend with his mother. He does most of the outdoor work for her which I can understand(his father passed away 2 years ago and she's older). I have no problem with a Sunday afternoon. He, however wants to go for the whole weekend.

The thing that irritates me is he knows we don't get along. She never liked me for her son and it's always shown through our 3 years of marriage. Well, I sure the hell don't want to spend every weekend where I'm not wanted but I also don't want to spend it without him.

I've talked to him about it and he feels it's his obligation to be there for her. I think when he put the ring on my finger his obligations should have switched to me a little more. Don't you think?

I want him to cut down the visits. I would never keep him from his mother but he needs to realize his mother can hire a lawn person if she needs it every week. She doesn't need him there 2 out of 7 days. It's hurting us.

Side 2 says... I know my wife isn't on board with me going to my mom's every weekend but I love my mother and I will always be there for her. She's given me so much and she's just has been feelign a little depressed recently. I go to keep her company. I don't know why they don't like each other. Personally and not to sound egotistical, they haven't found a way to share me. When I feel my mom's back to her old self before dad died, I will slowly move out of her life and not because my wife says so. I love them both and I wish they would get over themselves and be friends...at least for me.
