Thanksgiving Hangover

Side 1 says... My wife and I went out last night (night before Thanksgiving) to see a bunch of people who came home for the holidays. Needless to say it led to a bunch of drinking and both of us got a little drunk. Actually, I got drunk. She got wasted.

We are supposed to do dinner at my parents house early today and her parents later on around 6. She wants to skip my parents dinner because she is hungover and sick and just go to her parents house after she sleeps it off and feels better.

I don't feel all that great either but I think it's completely disrespectful to do. She says she'll make it up by going there tomorrow for leftovers but that's not right. My mom even went out of her way to make a roast for my wife because she hates turkey. I think she should suck it up and go.

Side 2 says... I know I'm wrong to have drank so much last night but going and being a lousy guest would be worse. I'd be irritable and tired and would most likely bring his entire family down on a day they should be having a good time.

I am going to call my mother-in-law and tell her why I don't want to go. I'm not asking my husband to make an excuse. My story to her is that I am hungover and don't feel good and that I will make it up to them.

I'm not stopping him from going. He can meet me at my parents' house later and we can do his mom's again on Friday.
