My Hair Cut Is Good Enough!

Side 2
Side 1 says... I just got my hair cut at one of the schools. It's not at all like the picture I took with me. My husband is upset with me for not going back and asking for a more experienced stylist to fix it. I am fine with how it looks. It's good enough. I have NEVER gotten a hair cut that looks the way I ask so I don't expect too much when I go in for one. I am not comfortable going back and possibly hurting the stylists feelings. I don't like the actual process of sitting in the chair and struggling to make small talk anyway. Going back seems extreme to me.

Side 2 says... While watching a movie one night, both Harmony and I independently came to the conclusion that the female lead's haircut would look particularly cute on her (Harmony). We considered the possibility of varying facial structure and hair texture, and each agreed that it would work, regardless of any differences in those departments. So, after a couple weeks of thinking about it, she decided to go ahead and get the haircut. I found a couple still-frames from the movie, and printed them out. She made an appointment at the local hair school (we're trying to save $$), took the pictures in, and sat down for the cut. Two hours later, she texts me and says the haircut is completely different from the one she asked for. She MMSd me a picture, and I concurred. I told her to go back, talk to someone (the instructor, a more experienced student, whomever) show them the style she asked for, show them the style she was given, and ask them to fix it, offering to pay an additional fee if necessary. She refused, claiming she's never gotten the haircut she asked for from a stylist, that the haircut she got is good enough, and she doesn't want to do it. When I told her that doing this is fully expected in the hair industry (I've done it myself, and the stylist told me she'd rather spend the time to fix it then have an unhappy customer) and asked her why she doesn't want to, she explained that she's never done it before, and that she doesn't want to hurt the stylist's feelings or affect his grade.

To me, it's completely unacceptable for a stylist to give his or her client a completely different cut than what the client asked for, with no explanation. If the stylist explained that the client's desired style wouldn't work (because of length, color, texture, etc.), and offers an alternative, that's completely fine! In fact, we've been in that situation before, and we were both happy with the result. But just delivering a completely different haircut isn't ok. What's more, Harmony refusing to do anything about it lest she offend the stylist or give him a bad grade seems to me like she values his feelings over mine. I realize this might seem selfish, but he's a random guy, and I'm her husband! If she truly values my feelings and opinion that little, then why even discuss potential hairstyles with me? I'm happy to be supportive with whatever she wants, but to involve me in the decision-making process and then completely ignore my input, not because she wants something different but just to avoid a potential confrontation with the stylist, just seems wrong.
